Responsibilities

Possesses advanced knowledge of network routing and switching, including routing protocols (e.g., EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and a deep understanding of LAN technologies such as Spanning Tree
Experienced in wireless networking, including the installation and troubleshooting of wireless access points, and maintaining wireless configurations within a centralized management system
Skilled in managing WAN connectivity for remote sites, including working with service providers to maintain service levels and handling support tickets for remote network issues
Demonstrates proficiency in analyzing and troubleshooting across the OSI model using network analysis tools
Manages user access and network segmentation through VLAN configuration to optimize switch performance and enhance security
Configures and supports core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, and NTP
Performs routine maintenance on network hardware, particularly at the access layer
Assists with IP addressing design, subnetting, and maintains accurate IP address documentation
Collaborates with leadership to evaluate and plan for network capacity needs
Participates in the replacement and upgrade of legacy network infrastructure including test equipment, UPS systems, access switches, and wireless hardware
Performs physical network tasks such as patching within communications rooms and installing, testing, certifying, and troubleshooting cabling for both local and remote sites
Supports the ongoing maintenance and management of the existing network and related hardware
Handles tasks related to network additions, moves, and changes
Provides rotating 24/7 on-call support
Ensures reliable connectivity for all networked systems including servers, workstations, and communication devices
Maintains accurate documentation of network assets and technical specifications
Monitors network performance and delivers performance reports and insights
Participates in the deployment and management of network security solutions
Offers mentorship and guidance to junior team members
Performs other related tasks as assigned

Required

Associate's degree in Information Systems or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required. Equivalent work experience may substitute for formal education
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Professional in delivering in-person and remote support
Demonstrates respect and sensitivity toward diverse populations
Quick to learn and apply new technical concepts
Skilled in the installation, certification, and troubleshooting of enterprise and remote site network cabling to ensure high availability and connectivity
Actively engages in cross-training and supports network engineers on various projects
Proficient in analyzing and supporting end-user hardware, software, and operating systems
Experienced in resolving issues with network-connected devices in a complex enterprise healthcare environment
Possesses clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical staff and end users
Knowledgeable in structured cabling systems, including fiber optics and the mapping of physical connections to central infrastructure points

Preferred

Foundational understanding of network design principles
Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment
Proficient with basic hand tools and structured cabling, including the ability to build and terminate Ethernet cables
Strong logical and methodical troubleshooting skills
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions accurately
Familiarity with structured wiring systems
Capable of serving as first-line response to network alerts and Helpdesk tickets, including Level 1 support
Professional certification in networking is a plus
