Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a Full Time Lab Assistant to support the Laboratory Services department. The Lab Assistant will perform a variety of duties including clerical functions, patient interaction, data entry, and phlebotomy collection under supervision.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to routine clerical functions, greeting patients/visitors, performs computer entry of physician orders, screens phone calls for test information, data entry and retrieval of patient's results and messages, charting of patient results, helps support the Laboratory computer system to ensure efficient operation of the Laboratory work flow

Responsible for the phlebotomy collection and triage area, maintaining printers and requisition request organization, performs routine phlebotomy, skin punctures, and in-house courier service

Under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services, Shift Supervisor or authorized designee

Pursuant to Federal Regulations, clinical oversight by the Medical Director or appointed Pathologist

Performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to routine clerical functions

Greeting patients/visitors

Performs computer entry of physician orders

Screens phone calls for test information

Data entry and retrieval of patient's results and messages

Charting of patient results

Helps support the Laboratory computer system to ensure efficient operation of the Laboratory work flow

Responsible for the phlebotomy collection and triage area
