They are seeking a Controller / Director of Finance to lead day-to-day financial operations, manage government contract accounting, ensure compliance, and support financial reporting in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close and reporting
Manage government contract accounting, billing, and revenue recognition
Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, HSAR, and DCAA requirements
Track and maintain indirect cost rates and support pricing activities
Support DCAA, DCMA, and DHS audits; maintain audit-ready documentation
Manage AP/AR, payroll, and cash flow monitoring
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and fractional CFO support
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
Government contracting experience required (DoD and/or DHS preferred)
Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and DCAA audit processes
Experience with government-compliant accounting systems – Deltek Costpoint
Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a small business environment
U.S. Citizenship required
Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (if required)
Preferred
CPA or CMA certification
Experience supporting cost-plus, T&M, and fixed-price contracts
Experience in a small business or high-growth environment
