Student Engagement Coordinator - Recruiting and Enrollment
Highland Community College is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Enrollment Management Professional to enhance the recruitment and enrollment of a diverse student body. The Student Engagement Coordinator will develop strategic recruitment initiatives, build relationships with students and families, and guide applicants through the enrollment process.

Responsibilities
Execute recruitment plans and strategies to meet or exceed enrollment goals for assigned student populations
Represent Highland Community College at college fairs, high school visits, community events, and other recruitment activities, both in-person and virtually
Conduct engaging and informative presentations to prospective students, parents, and counselors
Build and maintain strong relationships with high school counselors, independent educational consultants, college faculty and staff, and community organizations
Stay informed about current trends in higher education recruitment and retention best practices
Review and evaluate applications for admission, ensuring adherence to institutional policies and procedures
Act as professional staff sponsor for the Student Government Association programming board in ensuring campus sponsored events are safe and engaging
Participate in campus activity and student success planning, providing thoughtful and informed recommendations
Leverage technology to manage student engagement activities capturing attendance, sentiment, and impact metrics
Provide personalized guidance and support throughout the enrollment process for students
Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries from students, parents, and counselors via phone, email, and other communication channels
Develop and implement communication plans to nurture prospective students through the recruitment and engagement funnel
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and current students to create a welcoming and informative campus visit experience for students and their families, at all stages of the college lifecycle
Participate in on-campus recruitment events, such as open houses, information sessions, and admitted student days
Work closely with marketing and communications teams to develop compelling marketing campaigns and digital content
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of enrollment management activities and applicant interactions within the CRM system
Review reports and share analysis with student success leaders on enrollment management activities and progress towards retention and persistence metrics
Act as a student success software functional super user, championing usage and quality initiatives
Other duties as assigned by HCC leadership
Qualification
Required
A deep passion for student engagement and the holistic student experience in and outside of the classroom, ideally with experience at a residential community college
Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding recruitment goals
Excellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce, Element 451) and other technology platforms
Valid driver's license with no major infractions within the last five years and the ability to travel extensively, including overnight stays, as required
Extensive use of the computer is required with this position. Employee should have a good working knowledge of word processing, database, and spreadsheet functions, e-mail, Internet, Windows, and multi-user systems
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, reports, and legal documents
Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of trustees
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to write and explain recommendations for complex projects and programs
Preferred
Knowledge of Highland Community College's mission, values, and academic programs is desirable
Bachelor's degree preferred, higher education and college admissions experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
