Electrical Field Engineer

Responsibilities
Interpreting and applying complex electrical and instrumentation designs, specifications, and drawings to field construction and commissioning activities
Working closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to resolve field conditions and adapt designs where required
Supervising and inspecting E&I construction activities to ensure compliance with approved documentation, industry codes, and Worley standards
Providing technical verification and acceptance of completed electrical and instrumentation installations
Troubleshooting and resolving construction and commissioning challenges with practical, field-ready engineering solutions
Leading by example in health, safety, and environmental performance, reinforcing a strong safety culture on site
Supporting construction and commissioning planning, including schedule alignment, material readiness, and workforce coordination
Contributing to the development and improvement of field engineering procedures, work instructions, and quality practices
Mentoring junior field engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to promote capability development and collaboration
Managing and documenting technical changes and field modifications to ensure accurate as-built documentation
Communicating clearly with stakeholders through progress updates, technical input, and issue resolution to maintain alignment with project objectives
Qualification
Required
A degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent trade qualification supported by substantial field experience
Proven experience as a field engineer on complex, multidisciplinary industrial projects, ideally within the energy, chemicals, or resources sectors
Strong technical knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, construction practices, and commissioning methodologies
The ability to work independently in dynamic field environments while making sound, timely engineering decisions
Confidence interpreting construction documentation such as electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and specifications
Experience using engineering tools, project systems, and digital platforms that support integrated, data-driven project delivery
A practical approach to identifying, managing, and mitigating field-level risks while protecting schedule, cost, and sustainability outcomes
Well-developed problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex technical issues into workable site solutions
Clear, professional communication skills suited to engaging with site teams, contractors, engineers, and project leadership
