Responsibilities
Lead merchandising strategy for a $350M flooring category
Design and implement a harmonized buying approach across multiple independently buying branches
Leverage enterprise spend to create structured supplier agreements and competitive pricing
Own category financial performance: sales, margin, inventory productivity, and pricing
Drive assortment optimization using financial and performance analysis
Rationalize and optimize the supplier base (domestic vs. import, national vs. proprietary)
Partner cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and marketing to execute strategy
Serve as the central decision-maker for category and supplier strategy
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in merchandising, category management, or sourcing
Strong financial acumen and experience with assortment and supplier optimization
Comfortable influencing without authority in decentralized or franchise environments
Able to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
Bachelor's degree required
Preferred
flooring or hardlines preferred
MBA or advanced degree a plus
