Vice President Atrium Health Foundation

This role is responsible for leading the strategic direction and philanthropic mission of the Foundation, driving all aspects of philanthropy and fundraising while ensuring that philanthropy plays a central role in advancing Atrium Health's mission.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Serve as the principal executive and public face of the Foundation
Develop and execute a strategic framework that aligns with Atrium Health’s mission and long-term goals
Champion philanthropic principles and cultivate a culture of generosity and impact
Partner with the Foundation’s Board of Directors to ensure effective governance
Partner with senior volunteers to expand philanthropic reach and advocacy
Provide data-driven recommendations and insights to support strategic decision-making
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities
Lead major gift initiatives, donor stewardship, and community engagement strategies
Oversee grantmaking protocols, including development, analysis, funding, and evaluation
Build and maintain relationships with donors, corporate partners, and community leaders
Manage the Foundation’s staff and budget
In concert with Advocate Health Enterprise philanthropy, ensure sound financial oversight, including review
Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team aligned with the Foundation’s values
Foster collaboration, professionalism, and innovation across departments
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the Foundation’s work
Act as a visible and trusted advocate for health equity and community well-being
Represent the Foundation in public forums, media, and philanthropic networks
Build trust and credibility with underserved communities and stakeholders

Required

Bachelors degree in Business or other related field required
Proven track record in fundraising, strategic planning, and organizational leadership
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and analytical skills
Deep understanding of health disparities and community-based impact strategies
Typically requires 10 years of senior leadership experience in philanthropy, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors
