Responsibilities

Collect data through structured sessions, interviews, or classroom-based observations (in-person or virtual depending on project needs)
Build rapport with participants—including children, families, and educators—while following study protocols
Transcribe and code data accurately based on project guidelines
Assist with data entry and data cleaning
Support literature reviews and help prepare manuscripts or grant materials
Assist in administrative with attention to detail tasks as assigned
Maintain organized, confidential records using secure data systems
Attend regular team meetings (virtual and occasional in-person) to collaborate with lab members
Perform other research-related tasks as assigned

Required

Currently enrolled UVA undergraduate student (2nd–4th year preferred)
Federal Work Study Eligibility
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Comfort working with children and adults in structured settings (training provided)

Preferred

Previous coursework in psychology, education, cognitive science, or related fields
Experience working with children or in educational settings
Interest in pursuing research, graduate school, or a related academic/career path
