Principal/ Sr Principal Software I&T Engineer
Northrop Grumman is a leading provider of mission-enabling solutions for global security, seeking a Software Integration & Test (I&T) Engineer to join their Advanced Navigators business area. The role involves technical planning, system integration, and verification of embedded software systems, particularly for the M-code capable Embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation System (EGI-M).

Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive verification of software requirements to ensure alignment with system specifications
Design and develop detailed and robust test cases, test scripts, and test procedures to validate software functionality and performance
Create and deliver clear, concise, and effective test procedures to ensure that software test activities are executed accurately, with resulting data conforming to specified requirements
Work with various Agile teams to ensure all requirements are verified through inspection, analysis, demonstration, or test often by providing test and data reduction scripts
Develop, maintain, and optimize data reduction scripts to enhance efficiency and streamline validation processes
Minimum 10% travel to be expected (to customer, supplier, and other Northrop Grumman locations)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or another STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 5 years of experience in Software Integration & Test Engineering experience, or related technical fields, or a Master's degree in Systems Engineering or another STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 3 years of experience in Software Integration & Test or related technical fields, PHD Systems Engineering or another STEM (Science Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline
Proficiency with MathWorks development tools, including MATLAB and Simulink
Hands-on experience with one or more communication protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, ARINC-429 or RS-422
Experience integrating hardware and software in a lab environment
Skilled in writing both automated and manual test procedures to validate system functionality
Extensive background in software integration, and testing processes
Experience supporting test investigations and debugging efforts
Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
US Citizenship
Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA
Preferred
Strong hands-on experience with Ethernet protocols
Experience with GPS and Inertial navigation systems
Proficient in applying DO-178C safety-critical software verification processes, ensuring compliance with rigorous aerospace and defense industry standards
Well-versed in Agile development methodologies and tools, with practical experience using JIRA for issue tracking and team collaboration
Skilled in utilizing IBM Rational DOORS for requirements management and traceability throughout the development lifecycle
Active DoD Secret Clearance
