Responsibilities

Review and submit utility project plans for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities
Represent MMSD and provide oversight of MMSD interests throughout project activities, such as preconstruction meetings, project status reviews, and construction
Collaborate with staff on technical reviews of proposed projects and potential impacts to MMSD facilities
Conduct site visits for active municipal sewer projects
Verify completed projects with current project plans
Ensure all projects are compliant with construction specifications
Investigate incidents that may or may not impact MMSD facilities
Serve as the primary contact when working with contractors to resolve issues and arrive at agreeable solutions that meet MMSD requirements
Update multiple databases with project information, including reports, record sketches, and photos
Complete special projects as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, landscape architecture, or a related field
Three years of job-related experience (advanced education degrees will be considered in lieu of experience)
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to keep accurate and detailed reports, field notes, and to contribute to detailed technical reports and records
Competent in establishing and maintaining effective public and working relations
Ability to read, interpret, and work with blueprints, specifications, and plans
Knowledge of and the ability to apply various construction codes and standards
Capable of performing all jobs testing accurately
Ability to apply knowledge of OSHA confined entry procedures to the safe completion of job duties
Ability to use surveying equipment and field-testing equipment
Computer software proficiency
Confined space entry and CPR certifications (provided by MMSD)
Valid driver's license required and a good driving record at time of application, during the selection process, and throughout employment
