Responsibilities
Responsible for leading and managing an inclusive, diverse workforce in a manner that leverages the talents of each employee
Work closely with higher-level supervisor to ensure that the Resident's office goals support overall District, Division, and Area Office policy and strategic goals
Serve as the responsible professional for all work done in the Resident Office
Perform personnel management functions to guide, direct, and evaluate the technical efforts and work products produced by subordinates
Utilize a highly developed knowledge of professional engineering theories and principles of sound construction management
Identify and analyze employee relations, issues, and problems and take corrective action, as needed
Develop strategies to use new technology to enhance productivity and quality of business decisions and to assess the impact of these technological changes within the organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. The program must lead to a degree in a school with at least one program accredited by ABET. Degree must be documented on a transcript
All positions require the applicant to be a citizen of the United States
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, are required to register for Selective Service prior to appointment
A trial or probationary period may be required
A supervisory probationary period may be required
Professional Engineer: The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess and maintain license/registration as a Professional Engineer. This license/registration must be in good standing and issued by any one of the 50 states or its territories
Direct deposit of pay is required
This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time
This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or its possessions to operate vehicles
