Senior Accounting Analyst

The Senior Accounting Analyst will play a crucial role in the accounting department, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, analyzing financial variances, and preparing journal entries among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Supporting the month-end and year-end close process
Analyzing variances of actual financial results to prior periods and budget
Preparing and reviewing journal entries and assisting in maintaining the general ledger
Assisting in maintaining and reviewing the fixed asset subledger
Performing monthly bank reconciliations
Assisting the Treasury team with reviewing daily summary reports, monitoring daily cash position, setting up outgoing payments (Wire/ACH), and recording incoming deposits
Completing property and sales and use tax filings
Providing support for financial statement, tax, and compliance audits
Assisting with accounts payable processing
Providing and documenting training to end users in the accounting and accounts payable software systems, configuring and testing system updates, and troubleshooting issues
Communicating with other departments to obtain information required for accounting analysis
Identifying and implementing process improvements proactively
Preparing ad-hoc reports and analyses independently
Contributing to department and firmwide special projects, collaborating with key personnel in various departments as appropriate

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, and macros)
Strong technology skills
Ability to master and leverage accounting systems and new technology solutions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
A four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

Preferred

Four years of accounting experience
Experience designing and implementing process improvements
