Principal Financial Group is seeking a highly motivated Client Relationship Consultant in Group Benefits to make a significant impact in the Southern Chicago area or Indiana. This role involves partnering with the Sales team and Broker partners to develop customized strategies and manage an assigned block of in-force group business.

Delivering upon a strategic relationship plan that includes quarterly/annual goals

Providing expert renewal analysis & delivery

Delivering outstanding service and selling new lines of business

Required

Bachelors degree or equivalent plus 4+ years related experience (group benefits and/or account management experience preferred)

Must be able to acquire and maintain all required state licenses within 90 days. Active life/health license preferred

Must have excellent persuasion, interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, time management, presentation, listening, and oral/written communication skills, as well as analytical skills

Advanced math skills required with basic skills related to graphs, symbols, equations, etc

Maintain accuracy while being detail oriented

Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential

Travel required (approx. 25%), including overnight stays and time out in the market in face-to-face contact with customers and brokers

Preferred

group benefits and/or account management experience preferred

Active life/health license preferred

Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of business unit applications preferred
