Responsibilities
Visits all Patient Care rounds to assess Patient care requirements and completes the daily supervision communication form. Identifies role to family, Physicians, staff and other departments
Responds in emergency situations including RRTs and codes and ensures that only appropriate clinical staff are present and expedite any needed resources, tests and procedures. In addition, debriefs and analyzes the situation, completes documentation on debrief form and bring forth issues to the code committee
Qualification
Required
BSN required
Current license in NY state as a registered Professional Nurse
National Certification required or obtained within 6 months
Five(5) years of clinical experience with two (2) years of management and supervisory experience required
Critical Care experience
In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures
Team management skills and a problem solving attitude
Capable of independent judgment and critical analysis related to urgent patient care and clinical issues
Able to ensure smooth operation through day to day management and planning
Maintains a positive attitude with attention to details
Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Experience as RN manager, supervisor, or charge preferred
