Vice President of Quality Care, Trauma-informed Systems and Community-based Programs

The Baker Center for Children and Families is seeking a Vice President of Quality Care, Trauma-informed Systems and Community-based Programs who will provide visionary executive leadership and strategic direction across a multidisciplinary portfolio of community-based programs. This role focuses on transforming systems of care through evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, overseeing program directors, and collaborating with senior leadership to advance the organization's mission and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

Provides executive leadership and vision for the design, implementation, and evaluation of all non-clinical programs, ensuring they reflect evidence-based, trauma- informed, and relational health principles
Works closely with the Senior Director of Clinical Services/Director of Training to collaborate, support, and ensure alignment across clinical and non-clinical programs
Leads strategic planning and decision-making to align programmatic goals with organizational priorities in health equity, resilience, and population well-being
Represents the organization externally with funders, academic partners, and policymakers to advance trauma-informed systems and mental health innovation, training, and implementation science initiatives
Identifies and secures partnerships with governmental agencies, healthcare systems, foundations, and global organizations to promote system-wide change
Leads strategic planning and decision-making to ensure integration and alignment of programmatic goals with organizational priorities
Directly oversees and supports program directors responsible for the following core divisions and initiatives:
Quality Care Initiative: Oversees external implementation and training for mental health providers in evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. Provides oversight and strategic guidance to intermediary activities including workforce development and implementation, quality improvement, evaluation, model development, technical assistance and consultation
Division of Trauma-informed and Community-based Programs: Provides leadership for this new and expanding division of The Baker Center through building partnerships to address a broad range of community-based needs including screening, early intervention, prevention, program development, quality improvement, consultation and inter-agency collaboration. Lead large-scale, cross-sector collaborations such as centralized referral systems and resilience-building programs. Develop new community-based programs to address identified needs in child mental health and development in collaboration with providers, schools, community partners, youth & family organizations, and local and state agencies
Leads annual budget planning and fiscal oversight for all assigned programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and efficient resource utilization
Develops performance metrics and outcome tracking systems to ensure accountability and continuous quality improvement across trauma-informed and implementation initiatives
In collaboration with the Compliance Officer, oversees compliance with relevant regulatory, accreditation, and ethical standards while promoting operational excellence and sustainability
Secures and manages multi-million-dollar federal, foundation, or philanthropic grants to sustain and expand programming
Develops performance metrics and outcome tracking systems to ensure accountability and continuous quality improvement
Provides leadership and mentorship to Quality Care Initiative and Trauma- informed/Community-based Programs staff, fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and professional growth
In collaboration with the Human Resources department, oversees the recruitment, retention, and supervision of senior program leaders and directors within assigned departments
Guides staff development through trauma-informed leadership, secondary traumatic stress reduction, and resilience-building approaches
Mentors emerging leaders, clinicians, and educators to promote workforce well-being and expand trauma-informed competencies nationally and internationally
Identifies new programming, collaborative opportunities, and external partnerships and support at local, state, national, and global levels to advance The Baker Center’s mission and vision
Supports staff development through training, coaching, and succession planning

Required

Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (PhD or PsyD) from an APA-accredited program
Licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in Massachusetts
Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in behavioral health, training, consultation, program development or implementation science
Demonstrated expertise and an established track record at the local and national levels in at least one evidence-based practice or program implementation and training in mental health setting
Experience and expertise in evidence-based, trauma-informed and trauma-responsive strategies and programs
Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex program portfolios
Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets
Competency and knowledge in training, workforce development, and implementation science and practice
Superior clinical, training, and supervisory skills

Preferred

Track record of identifying and securing extramural funding
Experience in academic research, training program development, and/or grant-funded initiatives
National reputation in clinical psychology, evidence-based practice, implementation science, or related fields
Knowledge of health IT systems related to measurement-based care
