CAD/CAM Programmer
Pro Resources is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer specializing in 5-axis machining for wood and composite materials used in high-end chair manufacturing. The ideal candidate can take a design from concept to production, including modeling, jig/fixture design, toolpath creation, optimization, and production support.

Responsibilities
Programming & Machining
Create efficient 3-axis and 5-axis toolpaths for solid wood, plywood, MDF, and engineered materials
Develop production-ready CNC programs
Optimize cutting strategies for speed, accuracy, tooling longevity, and minimal tear-out
Validate programs through simulation and test runs
3D Modeling & Engineering
Build accurate 3D models and assemblies in Inventor and Fusion 360
Translate furniture designs/DXFs into machinable geometry
Produce shop drawings, exploded views, and machining documentation
Jigs & Fixtures
Design robust and repeatable jigs, fixtures, and vacuum setups for complex furniture parts
Collaborate with production teams to ensure ease of use and operator safety
Manufacturing Support
Troubleshoot machining issues and improve workflow efficiency
Select proper tooling, speeds/feeds, and machining strategies for hardwood and panel materials
Maintain organized tooling libraries and machining templates
Qualification
Required
5+ years of CNC programming experience, ideally in wood furniture/ seating manufacturing
Strong knowledge of 5-axis machining (Bacci considered a plus)
Skilled in 3D modeling
Solid understanding of woodworking properties, tooling, chip load, tolerances, and joinery
Experience in jig/fixture design
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience working with larger production facilities or custom furniture shops
Experience in Chair production
Experience with Bacci work centers
Surface machining for curved/organic furniture forms
Preferred
Experience with Alphacam, MasterCam, Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks and Fusion 360
CAM post customization (not required but valuable)
