IT Support Technician II

Responsibilities

Install, and maintain IT hardware and software
Provide first-level technical support including Desktop support, phones, applications, and peripherals
Manage inventory of spares and assets using Service Now, asset management tool
Train users and communicate IT initiatives, best practices, or any other relevant IT-related topics
Participate in plant IT-related activities
Support mobile devices and remote VPN users
Propose and deploy standardized solutions to eliminate reoccurring issues
Support the onboarding process by introducing new hires to Corning IT hardware, software, and IT policies
Develop and maintain documentation for support tasks
Protect data and ensure confidentiality of information
Deliver regular written and verbal status reports
Prioritize safety at all times

Required

Associate degree in IT-related field preferred or High school diploma with equivalent years of experience in a similar role
Relevant certifications a plus
3+ years' experience in an IT support role working with end-users
3+ years' experience working with computer hardware and software, including installation and maintenance
Technical knowledge of computer hardware, computer software, printers, and peripheral equipment
General knowledge of LAN/WAN equipment and topology (VPN, TCP/IP, Firewalls, etc.)
General knowledge of mobile devices (Android and Apple)
Advanced knowledge of Windows OS and O365
Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 40 lbs.) and climb ladders/lifts. Extensive walking throughout the plant to meet with users directly
On-Call monthly rotation

Preferred

General knowledge of Oracle and SQL databases
General knowledge of MacOS
Strong knowledge of Service Now or similar ticketing and asset tracking system
Organizational and planning abilities, with the ability to manage shifting priorities
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
Must be a self-starter, able to work in a team environment, and set example for more junior colleagues and contractors
