Financial Manager - IPS

Responsibilities

Planning and developing multiple budgets, including making financial projections and forming long and short-term strategies (sponsored project, program, and agency budgets)
Compiling and Analyzing key financial reports and metrics
Conducting regular financial and process reviews and audits
Providing leadership and subject matter expertise on fiscal policies and procedures
Supervising, mentoring, and developing the CIS Business Services accounting staff and administrative front desk staff
Serving as the financial liaison to the CIS Business Manager and CIS Leadership Team
Developing and delivering financial presentations and training for CIS staff
Conducts financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for multiple agency and program budgets
Profit/loss reporting
Sponsored project billings
Review ledgers for errors/irregularities
Supervise accounting staff and administrative staff
Enters proposals into Cayuse
Manages/reviews agency contracts for submission
Collaborates/assist Business Manager in preparation of multiple budgets
Monitors/reviews/edits agency wide labor distribution changes
Provide guidance to faculty and staff on financial matters

Required

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Experience: 2 years of experience in accounting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Fund accounting; Excel – intermediate level
Understanding of financial and budgeting strategies, best practices, auditing methods, and sponsored program requirements
Leadership and communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership internal and external partners, and agency team members
Working knowledge of GAAP and proper accounting procedures
Intermediate or greater knowledge of Microsoft Office software and general computer operations
Knowledge of university fiscal policies and the ability to apply policies as appropriate
Excellent math, written, and verbal communication skills with ability to apply analytical skills
Ability to balance multiple tasks; manage time for completion of tasks; and learn and adapt to new computer software and office procedures
Ability to provide strategic direction to accounting staff

Preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
Experience: Five years of experience working in accounting with exposure to fund accounting
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Fund accounting; Excel – intermediate level
