2026 Part-Time Summer Associate Program
The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland is a non-profit law firm focused on a broad range of civil issues. They are seeking law students for their 2026 Part-Time Summer Associate Program, which will provide hands-on experience in poverty law through client interviews, drafting court pleadings, and assisting with legal proceedings.

Responsibilities
Interview clients
Draft court pleadings
Research relevant legal issues
Attend and assist with administrative hearings or court proceedings
Gather and analyze evidence
Observe oral arguments in a variety of courts
May be assigned legal work for a project
Qualification
Required
Completed first or second year of law school prior to the summer of 2026
Demonstrated commitment to serving disadvantaged people and communities
Ability to provide an explanation in the cover letter if the resume does not reflect a commitment to public service due to personal financial constraints
Submission of a resume, cover letter, writing sample, and three (3) professional/academic references
Preferred
Law students who speak Spanish and other languages are strongly encouraged to apply
