Responsibilities
Author functional requirements, design verification plans and test procedures
Execute product designs which meet the requirements
Build and test electromechanical subsystem prototypes and integrated systems
Support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments
Work efficiently to support rapid schedules
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing
Experience working in an Agile environment
Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD experience and understanding of best practices for part design, and advanced assemblies
10+ years of experience designing and integrating actuators into robotics systems
Expert in robotic actuators, including: motors, mechanical transmissions, bearings, encoders, lubrication, environmental seals, etc
Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical efficiency, inertia, compliance, etc
Deep understanding of component capacities and life estimation given highly variable operating trajectories
Hands on experience building prototypes and debugging subsystems
Preferred
Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
Experience with the project management of technical projects
Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
Experience with actuator designs for robot end effectors
Demonstrated experience collaborating with Electrical and Controls engineers
Experience launching a product at scale
Proficiency documenting designs in accordance with ANSI Y-14.5
Experience designing and debugging tooled (sheetmetal, cast, injection molded, etc) components
Ability to support domestic and international travel as required by the program
Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECO's
