WAVY Unpaid Broadcast Engineering Intern, Summer Semester 2026
WAVY-TV 10 is looking for a Broadcast Engineering Intern for the summer semester of 2026. The intern will work closely with IT and engineering staff to maintain broadcast systems, troubleshoot issues, and participate in the installation and testing of new services and software.

Maintain broadcast systems
Identify problems and assist in resolving issues
Participate in installation, testing, and commissioning of new services and software
Troubleshoot TVU live packs and live capabilities (ENG and SAT trucks)
Work on various broadcast technology projects from IT to Livepacks and equipment repair
Learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments support each other
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled in a college degree granting program
Must show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program
Studying communications, engineering, or equivalent courses
Interest in broadcast engineering and live broadcast technologies
Interest in design, construction, and operation of complex broadcast systems
Willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom
Ability to work 12-15 hours per week on site
Ability to work Monday through Friday; days and times will vary and be set in agreement with supervisor
