Laboratory Research Assistant
The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Laboratory Research Assistant to support clinical and translational research in cardiology and dementia. The role involves handling biological samples, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities
Process and handle biological samples for storage and analysis, including aliquoting and centrifuging according to biobanking SOPs
Maintain accurate sample logs, research records, and lab documentation
Assist with data collection, entry, and basic data analysis to support ongoing projects
Support coordination of research activities across study sites (Presbyterian, Mercy, and others as assigned)
Collaborate with research investigators and staff to support experimental protocols and study needs
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
Proficiency in basic laboratory and biobanking techniques, including aliquoting, centrifugation, labeling, and proper sample handling
Experience with specimen processing, storage, and inventory management within a biorepository environment
Familiarity with electronic data capture, REDCap, and secure database handling
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized protocols precisely
Preferred
Basic data analysis skills (SAS or similar statistical software preferred)
