Laboratory Technician - Marine

Responsibilities

Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk
Perform laboratory tests on soil and rock samples as prescribed by the client to the highest level of safety and quality standards
Develop an understanding of whether test results are likely to pass peer review in terms of technical quality
Accurately and thoroughly record test data onto test worksheets
Calculation of laboratory test results using simple spreadsheets
Send reports for review before submission to the client
Calibration and checking of test instrumentation / equipment and maintenance of calibration records
Adhere to Fugro health and safety policies at all times
Follow all Fugro procedures and policies as required
Other duties as assigned

Required

Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent is required, associate degree or bachelor's is preferred
Have 3 years or more of lab or environmental field experience
Knowledge and understanding of various ASTM/ISO testing procedures
Be able to utilize testing equipment and perform laboratory equipment checks and calibrations in accordance with company procedures
Proficient in MS Office and other software applications
Possess current driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record
Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel

Preferred

Experience in soil testing, sample collection, and lab analysis is highly preferred
