Responsibilities
Assists with coordination of all branch operations including the appropriate use of all physical resources
Manage upkeep and condition of all equipment, plant, fixtures
Liaison with suppliers, merchandisers and other partners
Recruit, train and develop staff
Monitor competitor activity, pricing and tactics
Advertising and promotional strategy and activities in line with budgetary parameters
Contribute to company strategy and policy-making
Manage customer service activities and staff competence in these areas
Manage costs and overheads, and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the branch
Manage branch costs and overheads
Maintain safety requirements
Provided paperwork to Corporate as required
Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent and computer skills in Excel, Word, etc
Minimum of 3 years in assistant management of a service, warehouse or construction branch
Ability to take initiative, own tasks, and be flexible regarding changing priorities
Ability to understand workflow, identify process improvements, summarize issues, and make recommendations to management
Experience assessing and preparing documentation related to operational processes
Ability to strategically think through initiatives, issues and opportunities while contemplating unintended consequences
Strong communication, time management and presentation skill
Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours), loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pound
Working from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds
Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smart phones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively
Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances
Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities
Vision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans
Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone
Communicating clearly - both written and verbally, ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor
Working a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees
Valid driver's license required, will require passing MVR and controlled substance test, may require background and criminal record check
Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations
Must maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing
