Responsibilities

Perform support for field operations and simple electrical equipment testing, troubleshooting, inspections
Responsible for support equipment and maintaining shop supplies
Requires troubleshooting capabilities
Simple relay calibration, use of recording instrumentation
Perform tests and inspections on the following equipment: low and medium voltage circuit breakers and switchboards, ground systems, motor control centers, medium voltage cables, ground fault systems, and two-winding transformers
Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of day/project using a computer and the Company’s custom software

Required

Graduate Engineer BSEE or BSME and two years experience
Graduate of applicable Electrical Technical School or Military equivalent and five years minimum same or similar work experience
High school education or equivalent and six years minimum same or similar work experience
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and various industry standards, such as OSHA and NFPA
Strong background and experience in most types of switchgear testing through the 230 kV class
Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems, and good aptitude for problem evaluation
Complete projects consistently meeting customer's deadline and on budget
Able to write detailed reports, using a computer
Communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients and peers
Good judgment, dependable, supervises projects with technical expertise and good business management skills
Strong computer skills including editing, formatting and using templates in Microsoft Word, use of Internet for standards/products/manufacturer research and operation of computer controlled test equipment
Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work
Must be available for out-of-town work of up to several months
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and smell
Frequently required to sit, climb and balance
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, basic color differentiation and the ability to adjust focus
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move 100 pound test sets
Valid Driver's License
Due to the safety sensitive aspect of the role, candidates are required to successfully pass a drug test prior to employment
In addition, you will also be required to complete and pass a pre-employment background check and a motor vehicle records check

Preferred

Passed the NETA II (International Electrical Testing Association) exam or NICET equivalent preferred
