Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Scientist (Epigenomics)

Natera is currently seeking a Senior/Lead Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Bioinformatics Research Team focused on Epigenomics in Oncology. The ideal candidate will design and implement algorithms to analyze cancer detection data while collaborating with molecular biologists and clinical scientists.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and validate innovative algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets related to cancer detection
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and scientific excellence
Work closely with molecular biologists and clinical scientists to solve challenging problems
Contribute to experimental design and ensure data integrity and quality control

Required

PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with a strong emphasis on cancer epi/genomics
Proven track-record of developing state-of-the-art computational methods for high throughput sequencing data processing
Strong foundation in quantitative reasoning, statistical analysis and applied machine learning
Strong computational and programming skills, with hands-on experience with Python and its scientific library stack (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
Experience using Linux command-line tools and writing shell scripts
Ability to perform hypothesis driven research, visualize findings and summarize results in oral and written form
High scientific rigor and eager to teach and learn about new computational methods and biology
