This role involves analyzing and optimizing revolutionary vehicle designs and working collaboratively with Vehicle Engineering and Test Engineering teams.

Responsibilities
Develop strength and durability FE models for analysis and optimization of revolutionary vehicle architectures in collaboration with a small team of multi-disciplinary Engineers
Challenge established traditional CAE methods and process to improve efficiency and accuracy
Use CAE tools to optimize performance for BIW, closures, chassis, and other sub-systems
Support world-class Engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses
Perform analysis for feasibility for manufacturing, assembly and service processes
Quickly learn the tools necessary to execute, and modify or create new tools as necessary
Qualification
Required
Deep understanding of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics
Ability to work independently and with others on problems that are unusual or difficult
Ability to come up with practical and theoretically sound solutions to problems never encountered before
Ability to concisely convey technical communication
Understanding of theory in a range of mechanical engineering subjects, including heat transfer, vibrations, controls, and fluid dynamics
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
Preferred
Experience in Finite Element Analysis, Fatigue Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics and Numerical Methods within a product development environment
Understanding of Statistics and optimization techniques
Knowledge of Python and Linux
Experience in 3D CAD modeling - CATIA v5/v6
