Principal Professional Engineer (Traffic)
Palm Beach County's Engineering and Public Works Department is seeking an experienced Principal Professional Engineer to manage the Traffic Signal and Street Lighting Design section in the Traffic Engineering Division. This role involves supervising technical staff, managing project budgets, and coordinating with contractors on traffic signal and street lighting design and construction.

Responsibilities
Perform administrative and management work responsible for planning, coordinating and approving the work of professional and technical staff
Responsible for supervising activities of the Traffic Signal and Street Lighting Design section, including the production of signal design and street lighting projects
Administer construction project contracts
Manage project budgets
Administer the County's street lighting maintenance agreements
Coordinate with project developers and other contractors regarding traffic signal and street lighting design and construction
Conduct traffic signal and street lighting plan review
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, or closely related field
Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in professional traffic engineering; or six (6) years of experience if possessing a related Master's Degree
Two (2) years of experience in the supervisory aspects of engineering
Licensed as Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida or licensed as a P.E. in another state and obtain a license as a P.E. in the State of Florida within 11 months of hire
Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment
