InternParkview Health System Inc is seeking a Pharmacy Summer Clinical Intern to work with both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy teams. The intern will gain experience in operational tasks and have opportunities to shadow in advanced roles while assisting with inventory management and clinical review projects.

Responsibilities
The Pharmacy summer intern will spend 5 weeks working with the inpatient pharmacy team and 5 weeks working with the outpatient pharmacy team to develop an understanding of the wide array of pharmacy services offered by the pharmacy enterprise
The intern will help with small inventory management or clinical review projects, based upon the needs of the department
Qualification
Required
valid pharmacy technician or pharmacy intern license
Must meet one of the following requirements: current CNA EMT or Paramedic certification, or must take Parkviews Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire
2 years experience in a healthcare-related field training time will be determined based on experience
currently enrolled in a nursing school having completed first clinical rotations if hired prior to 12/3/18
two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted
Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire
Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications
Demonstrates ability to critically think
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds
Preferred
CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification preferred or must have the equivalent of health care experience and education
two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role
a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required)
Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program
