Assistant Director of Learning Services
ISEEN: Independent Schools Experiential Education Network is seeking an Assistant Director of Learning Services to join Athenian School, an independent college preparatory school. The role focuses on managing the Learning Services program, providing support to students, faculty, and families, and developing Personal Learning Plans for students with diverse learning needs.
Education Management
Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of the Learning Services program
Maintain the general student caseload
Lead the creation and management of Personal Learning Plans (PLPs)
Coordinate standardized testing accommodations
Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support that strengthens students’ academic skills and executive functioning
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Special Education or a related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5 years of direct work as a Learning Specialist or academic coach in a grades 6–12 setting
Experience managing complex student caseloads
Experience writing individualized learning plans
Experience coordinating accommodations
Experience delivering strategy-based academic support
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent written communication skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Comfortable using educational technology and learning management systems
Understanding of the distinctions between high school and college accommodation requirements
Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student well-being
