Seasonal Cub Scouting Program Manager

Connecticut Rivers Council, Scouting America is seeking a Seasonal Cub Scouting Program Manager to oversee a new pilot initiative. This role is responsible for managing the program's execution, including staffing, logistics, and marketing, ensuring alignment with Scouting America’s objectives.

Non-profit Organization Management

Responsibilities

Directs the overall planning, coordination, and administration of multiple Seasonal Cub Scouting sessions throughout the calendar year
Recruits, trains, and supervises part-time program delivery staff to ensure consistent and high-quality program execution
Develops and implements work plans, schedules, and staffing assignments consistent with established program objectives and operational timelines
Ensures that all program activities adhere to Scouting America’s standards for youth protection, safety, and educational outcomes
Coordinates facility use and logistical arrangements in partnership with council and national representatives
Oversees the implementation of local marketing and participant recruitment efforts in collaboration with the council’s membership and communications teams
Maintains communication with parents, guardians, and community partners to ensure satisfaction and address concerns at the local level
Manages program budgets and expenditures in accordance with council and national guidelines
Collects, analyzes, and reports program participation and performance data for continuous improvement and national reporting requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in education, recreation management, nonprofit administration, or a related field
Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in youth program management, education, or related work
Demonstrated ability to supervise and develop part-time or seasonal staff
Strong organizational, analytical, and written communication skills
Proven experience in coordinating large-scale youth or community programs
Proficiency in basic administrative software, reporting, and scheduling tools
Must complete Scouting America's Youth Protection Training and Pennsylvania Act 15 Clearances before employment
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
