INSTRUMENT MECHANIC
PSNS and IMF is looking for an Instrument Mechanic to join their Production Resources Department in Bremerton, WA. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying complex equipment and instruments to ensure they meet specifications and performance standards.

Responsibilities
You will troubleshoot, overhaul, repair, modify, test/calibrate, align and remove/install various complex equipment, components and instruments
You will research plans, drawings, sketches, technical manuals, factory specifications, job order specifications, shipyard directives, and other publications to assure that equipment and instruments meet specifications
You will test/calibrate and analyze equipment performance to isolate malfunctions to verify conformance to specifications
You will modify equipment by adding, altering, or removing mechanical or electrical components in order to alter the range or purpose of the equipment or to incorporate new features developed since the instrument was manufactured
You will set up test equipment, standard instruments, control equipment and tests
You will check for proper operation as interfaced with other systems and sub-systems
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326

This is a bargaining unit position
You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
