Responsibilities
You will oversee the development, design, and testing of complex missile system components, ensuring that all performance and reliability requirements are met throughout the system’s lifecycle
You will manage and supervise a team of engineers, setting priorities, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely project completion, while providing guidance and conducting performance evaluations
You will provide technical direction and coordination for safety, performance, reliability, and maintainability programs, ensuring the integration and application of these requirements across various engineering disciplines
You will represent the organization in meetings with external stakeholders, including other government agencies, contractors, and senior management, making decisions that impact the development and performance of missile systems
You will ensure compliance with government directives and policies, interpret technical specifications and contracts, and implement local standards for hardware and software applications related to missile systems
Qualification
Required
Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes
You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialist experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or NH-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Professional engineering experience leading the design, development, and testing of complex weapon systems across multiple engineering disciplines
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
