FACILITIES OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

USAJOBS is seeking a Facilities Operations Specialist to serve within the Research and Development Support Activity (RDSA). This role is responsible for developing and directing policies and programs to ensure the support of facilities, utilities, security, safety, communications, and operating systems.

Responsibilities

You will manage a team of contracted building managers and facilities operations specialists and act as both the Government representative, as well as the Assistant Contracting Officer Representative
You will work closely with the Naval Base Kitsap Public Works Officer and team as well as Base Operating Support Contractors
You will work with local security representatives to ensure the network of facilities in Pacific Northwest meet security requirements and the required physical security systems remain operational
You will maintain close liaison with information technology and data center managers and ensure the facility complies with information technology requirements
You will work with headquarters to plan and execute a large annual facility budget with experience in managing budget execution

Required

Must be a US Citizen
Must be determined suitable for federal employment
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program
New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You must acknowledge in writing that you are accepting an appointment in the DCIPS (excepted service) which does not confer competitive status, prior to appointment
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance
This position may require a 2-year DCIPS Trial Period
This position may be subject to polygraph examination
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS/GG-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Managing the operation of a large network of facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations as well as prioritizing facilities sustainment tasks and contracts
Managing facilities planning for a network of government owned facilities, including incorporating basic facility requirements into the shore infrastructure plan
Developing short- and long-range facilities plans and coordinate them across representatives throughout the Pacific Northwest region
Managing a variety of construction projects among the facilities in the Pacific Northwest
