Responsibilities
Civil and stormwater design and site layout for landfill and composting facilities
Engineering analyses such as slope stability, seismic design, foundation design, leachate and landfill gas modeling, and seepage
Preparation of permit documents such as Joint Technical Documents and closure plans, solid waste management permits, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications, engineer’s cost estimates, and construction quality plans
Fieldwork associated with investigation, design and construction services
Project/task management
Understanding of local, state and federal regulations related to solid and hazardous wastes; and
Assisting in the development of proposals and other business development activities
Drive personal , company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, geologic or geotechnical engineering
At least 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated strong interest in solid waste
Strong oral and technical writing skills
Excellent writing and communication skills
Available to travel for project related work
Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Advanced degree in the same
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration or the ability to obtain P.E. registration within 1 year
Interaction with regulatory agencies (e.g., CalRecycle, State Departments of Environmental Quality or Health, Regional Water Quality Control Board, Department of Toxic Substances and Control)
Experience with modeling/design tools such as Civil3D or Microstation and Slope/W
