Tax Professional
The Tax Team is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Professional to join their financial team. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, advising clients on tax strategies, and ensuring adherence to current tax laws and regulations, contributing significantly to client success and organizational growth.

Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and non-profit organizations
Provide tax planning advice related to estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and other complex financial transactions
Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and other regulatory reporting requirements
Conduct detailed financial analysis to support tax strategies and optimize client outcomes
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial tools for accurate bookkeeping and financial statement preparation
Perform audits, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting tasks
Assist clients with financial report writing and interpretation of financial statements
Stay current with changes in securities law, GAAP standards, IRS regulations, and other relevant legal frameworks affecting taxation
Support clients in areas such as payroll processing, accounts payable management, asset management, and budgeting
Collaborate with teams on regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with all applicable standards
Maintain detailed documentation of all tax-related activities and ensure accuracy in all filings
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in tax accounting or public accounting with a focus on taxation
Strong knowledge of accounting principles including GAAP, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits
Familiarity with various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, and other financial software tools
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and reports
Strong understanding of financial concepts including mergers & acquisitions, financial analysis, budgeting, and financial planning
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
Preferred
Experience with estate planning, wills & trusts law, securities law, non-profit accounting, private equity, or asset management is a plus
Relevant certifications such as CPA or EA are preferred but not required
