Responsibilities
Interacting with multidisciplinary internal teams and external clients to provide integrated GIS, data management, analysis, and visualization solutions for environmental engineering, and geoscience projects
Using desktop and enterprise GIS software, including ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and open-source alternatives, to collect, store, analyze, and visualize spatial data
Using mobile data collection platforms, such as EQuIS collect, Survey123, Collector for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Field Maps, and GPS equipment for data collection
Designing, developing, and managing project-specific relational database applications using desktop and enterprise database software
Compiling, verifying, analyzing, visualizing, and reporting large and diverse datasets; and
Automating processes with Python and other scripting languages and platforms (VBA, Microsoft PowerAutomate, etc.)
Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, science, engineering, or related technical discipline
Proficiency with desktop GIS software (ArcGIS)
Programming skills with languages such as Python, R, SQL, .NET, Java/JavaScript, and VBA
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Valid U.S. driver's license and satisfactory driving record for business travel
Preferred
Advanced degree the same
Experience with the off-the-shelf environmental data management systems (EQuIS, ESdat)
Knowledge of laboratory analytical data verification and validation processes
Experience with the front-end processes of collecting field data with various GPS units and the process of downloading and compiling the data
Academic training in environmentally-related disciplines, such as geology, civil/environmental engineering, water/natural resources, or environmental studies
