Responsibilities

Support advanced technology concepts that facilitate enhanced shipbuilding practices/methodologies for new/in-service Navy mission assets

Lead and manage R&D projects that support the development of innovative technologies and solutions for shipbuilding

Conduct briefings and technical meetings for internal Division/Corporate leadership and external technical/Program representatives as required

Develop and/or lead ongoing technical projects or internal/external advanced concept opportunities that emerge for the organization

Manage quality objectives & provide guidance to subordinates based on established company goals, objectives, and policy

Collaborate on the Program Management responsibilities of the projects that they specifically support

Coordinate the planning and project performance regarding cost, schedule, technical quality, and risk management for the related Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements of a large system development-type or technical services-type contract

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school of engineering

8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering, and design or equivalent

Preferred

Master's of Science degree in Engineering

Professional registration with 6 years of relevant experience

Minimum eight years direct experience working with independent Research, Development and Process Technology (RD&PT) activities

Desired candidate understands the process of technically facilitating contracts within Government or Industry partner realms for the RD&PT organization

Direct experience managing or executing Independent Research and Development (IRAD) and Manufacturing and Production Engineering (M&PE) projects

Minimum five years experience with financial budget management execution in dollars

Strong cross organizational experience and relationship building skills to support project executions, transitions, and process implementations in a timely manner
