Responsibilities

Deliver legal counsel to ensure Meta’s health-related products, services, and operations comply with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards
Support the ongoing development, enhancement, and oversight of Meta’s healthcare compliance program. Collaborate with team members to draft, review, and update policies and procedures, ensuring they reflect current regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Regularly assess and monitor healthcare compliance risks by conducting risk assessments and validation activities. Use insights from these reviews to spot areas for improvement and make sure our program is working as intended. Drive ongoing improvements to strengthen the effectiveness of our healthcare compliance program and support Meta’s commitment to ethical and compliant healthcare operations
Provide strategic legal counsel to support Meta’s engagement with health regulators globally, including the development of outreach strategies and management of regulatory filings, briefings, and responses
Create and deliver healthcare compliance training that’s relevant and practical for different teams at Meta. Put together easy-to-use guidance and resources to help product counsel and business partners understand healthcare rules and make smart, compliant decisions
Monitor emerging global healthcare laws and regulations potentially applicable to Meta’s products and maintain a current working knowledge of various laws, regulations, and industry guidance that affect digital health products
Travel domestically and internationally as needed

Required

J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
Experience in medical device, life sciences, or healthcare industry
In-depth knowledge of fraud & abuse laws, regulations, and enforcement
Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
Effective communication skills

Preferred

Experience working in-house with technology, consumer electronics, telecommunications, or medical device companies, especially on commercialization projects. Skilled at providing regulatory guidance for products and technologies that are evolving faster than current laws and regulations
Experience using a risk-based approach when tackling compliance challenges, and to develop creative solutions for novel issues
Experience delivering practical advice under pressure and prioritizing work
