Academic Support Coordinator

Arapahoe Community College is one of the oldest community colleges in Colorado, known for its commitment to student success and diversity. The Academic Support Coordinator will support students in the Elevate program by coordinating academic assistance and fostering essential skill development to promote student retention and independence.

Responsibilities

Coordinate academic support services, including modified coursework, tutoring, and structured study hall support
Collaborate closely with faculty to maintain academic rigor and ensure ongoing communication regarding student needs
Provide in-class support and guide students in accessing campus resources and developing essential life and classroom skills
Deliver outreach and training to faculty and staff through meetings and professional development
Monitor and report student progress through monthly progress reports

Required

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
Two (2) years of experience working with people with disabilities in an educational setting
Strong collaboration, problem-solving, interpersonal, oral and written communication, organization, and critical thinking skills required
Commitment to creating an inclusive learning & work environment and demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds

Preferred

Experience working in an inclusive higher education program
Experience working in a post-secondary setting
