Responsibilities
Support the nursing team through structured rotations across all hospital nursing departments
Work on projects aligned with the nursing departments to enhance clinical understanding
Engage in patient care environments during the internship
Demonstrate core qualities essential to healthcare, including compassion and integrity
Work primarily daytime shifts, with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed
Qualification
Required
Must meet one of the following requirements: current CNA, EMT, or Paramedic certification or must take Parkview's Patient Care Foundations course at time of hire
2 years experience in a healthcare related field; training time will be determined based on experience
Currently enrolled in nursing school having completed first clinical rotations
If hired prior to 12/3/18, two (2) years military medical experience will be accepted
Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or obtain within 60 days of hire
Must have good verbal and written communication skills
Must have a working knowledge of computer skills and applications
Demonstrates ability to critically think
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with 100 pounds
Preferred
CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification
Two (2) years previous experience in a nursing support role
A nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) having completed their first clinical rotation on an extended care or inpatient nursing unit (nursing school transcripts required)
Acceptable accrediting agencies are Commission on Collegiate Education in Nursing (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)
If assigned to the Parkview Randallia Family Birthing Center, must be bonded as a notary public within 6 months of hire
Previous experience is preferred in direct patient care through work and/or school program
Training in blood pressure monitoring
