Responsibilities
Under direction, performs varied clerical and secretarial duties for and relieves supervisor of minor administrative duties
Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day to day work activities of the office of the supervisor
Work requires knowledge of programs and procedures relating to the work of the supervisor, as well as other departmental personnel
The Secretary II is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
A minimum of one year specialized training in related area (educational or vocational certificate)
Minimum of three years related clerical/secretarial experience in a general office environment
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Effective communication skills
Effective interpersonal skills
Effective critical thinking skills
Must possess basic bookkeeping skills
Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
Ability to type 50 words per minute
Ability to use a computer
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to learn and use various department-specific software programs
Ability to compose minutes
Good organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential material and maintain confidence
