Florida State University is one of the nation's elite research universities, and they are seeking a Faculty Psychologist – Clinical Assistant Professor to provide psychological and educational support services to graduate students in the College of Medicine. The role involves individual therapy, advising students, and developing referral networks to enhance academic success and mental well-being.

Responsibilities

Providing individual therapy and personal counseling to matriculated students for general mental health concerns, adjustment disorders, personal stressors, and the promotion of well-being
Advising students and developing strategies to address academic deficiencies and to facilitate academic success
Initial evaluation, screening, and referral as appropriate of matriculated students for psychiatric care
Developing and managing a network of referral relationships with qualified practitioners who can provide additional services for students if required
Active in teaching, clinical service, and research consistent with the College of Medicine's mission

Required

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree from an American Psychological Association (APA)-approved counseling or clinical psychology program to include an APA-approved pre-doctoral internship and Florida licensure as a psychologist, or eligibility to obtain within 90 days of employment

Preferred

At least two years of experience in counseling or clinical psychology, with a minimum of one year of post-doctoral clinical experience in individual and group counseling, to include psychological assessments, and/or consultations
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preference given to candidates with postdoctoral work experience with college students or with young adults in a health science setting and/or experience providing academic support services
Doctorate level training in the science of learning, including educational psychology or school psychology
