Software Engineer - Level 2
Northrop Grumman is a leading aerospace and defense technology company, seeking a Software Engineer – Level 2 to join their Launch and Missile Defense Systems team. The role involves developing software for the GMD Weapon System, including implementing and testing algorithms, and participating in code modernization efforts.

Software development, you will also be expected to support reviews of requirements and test cases that are developed in support of the GFC software team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 0-2 years of related experience
Recent experience developing software in C++ or Java or Ada
Willingness to become highly proficient with Ada software development
Quick to learn and able to absorb new concepts and information
Recent MATLAB and Python Experience
Linux Operating System Experience
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
Applicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Preferred
Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics
Strong background in math and physics
Highly experienced with Linux, scripting, and operations
Experience with automated software requirements testing and analysis
Experience with the MDA GMD program
Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
