Project Manager Intern – TEP
The City of New York is seeking a Project Manager Intern to work within the Division of Transportation Planning & Management. The role involves assisting in the design and implementation of transportation planning and engineering projects, as well as conducting environmental and traffic safety studies.

Responsibilities
Assist in the review of environmental studies under CEQR/SEQR/NEPA processes using the analytical procedures presented in the CEQR Technical Manual
Assist in conducting a variety of traffic operations and safety studies following the Department’s guidance on levels-of-service (LOS) analyses for signalized/unsignalized intersections and pedestrian elements
Perform engineering reviews of schematic geometric designs and Design Approval Document/Preliminary Design Investigation reports for capital reconstruction projects
Assist senior staff in organizing and preparing written reports and graphic materials for presentations
Maintain project management systems for tracking project progress and providing project data
Participate in technical and advisory committee meetings
Coordinate with City agencies and consultants
Interact with other agency representatives on Department studies and projects
Work independently and as part of a team and may be required to conduct occasional field work
Qualification
Required
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural technology, construction, construction management, construction technology, sustainable design, urban planning, urban studies, city planning, transportation planning, business administration, or public administration
A master's degree in architecture that is the first professional degree in architecture from an accredited college or university
Preferred
Experience in CEQR, SEQR and/or NEPA processes
Proficiency in HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, and/or knowledge of traffic simulation models (i.e., VISSIM, etc.)
Knowledge of traffic engineering/transportation planning principles and the traffic/transportation aspects of environmental impact studies
Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM), MUTCD, the AASHTO Green Book, the CEQR Technical Manual, and the NYSDOT Project Development Manual, Highway Design Manual, and Environmental Manual
Excellent writing and oral presentation skills preferred
Valid NYS Driver's License required
