Manufacturing Engineering Intern - Summer 2026
Hermeus is a high-speed aircraft manufacturer focused on the rapid design, build, and test of high-Mach and hypersonic aircraft for the national interest. They are seeking talented students to join their Manufacturing Engineering team in Los Angeles to support improvement initiatives and contribute to the design, build, and testing of critical hardware.

Responsibilities
Evaluate designs for manufacturability and testing, providing feedback to design team
Design and implement tooling and test solutions where appropriate, to support component build and delivery
Develop new processes and procedures to support flight hardware builds
Manage projects and execute to tight timelines while effectively and proactively communicating with stakeholders
Provide data-driven solutions to technical issues encountered during build
Actively interface with technician and engineering teams to resolve product non-conformances and keep build on schedule
Develop and refine floor layouts
Support capacity modelling and time studies to identify and prioritize opportunities for process improvement
Collaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve large-scale and widespread production challenges
Qualification
Required
Practical experience designing, building, and testing vehicles through internships, studies or projects
Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program)
Strong interest in vehicle hardware
Strong understanding of engineering first principles
Demonstrated ability to work within cross-functional teams
Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
GPA of 3.0 or above
