Research Analyst
SoftDev Incorporated is seeking a Research Analyst to support the Medicare Health Outcomes Survey (MHOS) Analysis project for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). This role involves overseeing statistical analyses, managing large datasets, and ensuring methodological soundness while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Oversee and support the development and implementation of statistical analyses associated with MHOS Analysis project tasks
Coordinate with other Research Analysts, statisticians, project management, and technical staff to organize workflow and ensure consistent methodologies aligned with the SOW
Manage and assess large, complex datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data completeness, accuracy, and readiness for analysis
Support analysis of MHOS, HOS, HEDIS®, and related quality datasets to evaluate beneficiary outcomes and contract-level performance
Conduct background research and exploratory analyses to assess potential additions or refinements to existing measure sets
Interpret analytic findings and develop alternative analytic strategies to support measurement of quality and performance among MA and other CMS contracts
Contribute to technical documentation, analytic specifications, reports, and written summaries for CMS review and approval
Support recurring analytic production cycles, ad hoc analytic requests, and CMS-driven methodological updates
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, public health, health services research, business analytics, or a related quantitative field (graduate degree preferred)
Experience supporting statistical or research analysis in healthcare, public health, or federal programs
Familiarity with HOS and HEDIS® data and their use in quality measurement and performance reporting
Demonstrated experience working with large datasets from multiple sources and assessing data completeness and integrity
Strong technical, analytical, computer, organizational, writing, and communication skills
Ability to synthesize complex analytic findings and clearly communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences
Preferred
Experience supporting CMS, Medicare Advantage, or other federal health quality measurement programs
Familiarity with survey-based analysis, patient-reported outcomes, and longitudinal data
Experience working in a CMS-style environment with formal review, approval, QA, and documentation requirements
Proficiency with statistical or analytic tools such as SAS, R, SQL, Stata, or similar
