Responsibilities
Take real ownership of a $3.5 million marine cargo portfolio
Underwrite business sourced through the MGA’s in-house wholesale broker as well as your own retail agents
Shape strategy as the cargo book grows toward $10 million in premium
Build broker relationships, predominantly retail but some wholesale
Focus on underwriting quality Marine Cargo and Pollution Liability business
Qualification
Required
Several years of experience underwriting Marine Cargo
Strong, trusted relationships with retail agents across the U.S
Understanding of how to trade, negotiate, and grow a profitable book
Desire to work in a fast-paced MGA environment
Interest in underwriting quality Marine Cargo and Pollution Liability business
Willingness to take ownership of a $3.5 million marine cargo portfolio
Ability to shape strategy and build broker relationships
Preferred
Candidates based in New Jersey, New York, Atlanta or Virginia
Aspirations to become a Head of Cargo
