Responsibilities
Take real ownership of a $3.5 million marine cargo portfolio
Underwrite business sourced through the MGA’s in-house wholesale broker as well as your own retail agents
Shape strategy and build broker relationships as the cargo book grows toward $10 million in premium
Progress into a Head of Cargo role in future if desired
Underwrite quality Marine Cargo and Pollution Liability business
Qualification
Required
Several years of experience underwriting Marine Cargo
Strong, trusted relationships with retail agents across the U.S
Understanding of how to trade, negotiate, and grow a profitable book
Desire for autonomy and growth in underwriting
Interest in a long-term incentive/bonus structure
Willingness to work in a hybrid setup
Based in New Jersey, New York, Atlanta, or Virginia
Preferred
Experience with Pollution Liability business
Aspirations to become a Head of Cargo
