State Income Tax Manager

The Boeing Company is a leading aerospace firm, currently seeking a Senior State Income Tax Manager to join its Tax Department in Chicago, Illinois. Responsibilities

Lead the quarterly and annual state income tax provisions and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting per Accounting Standards Codification 740 (ASC 740)
Manage state income tax audits
Analyze implications of state tax legislation and develop tax strategies for implementation. Support advocacy efforts, including analysis of various credit and incentive opportunities
Manage the state income tax compliance process, which includes preparation and/or review of state apportionment, annual filings, quarterly estimates and extensions, and state cash forecasting
Manage tax consultants where necessary to provide technical and compliance advice
Integrate new technologies to improve existing processes

Required

Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, business or a related field
5+ years of experience working corporate income tax
Strong corporate state income tax knowledge base
Familiarity with US federal tax concepts
Strong tax technical background and foundation in corporate state income taxes
Demonstrated understanding of state tax law
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
Strong analytical, research and communication skills

Preferred

Possess an accounting degree, or certification such as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and/or a higher education certificate in accounting from an accredited 4 year school
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with recent Big 4 public accounting experience
Project Management Experience
Ability to learn new areas and take on new responsibilities
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
Ability to approach projects in a proactive manner and to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills in all aspects (written, verbal, etc.)
